Harland recognised for business improvement techniques

Harland have won a Yorkshire Productivity award for 'Business Improvement Techniques for Small Businesses'. The award ceremony held at the Royal Armouries in Leeds on 11th May 2010 recognises the significant steps being taken by manufacturing companies and staff to improve their efficiency and competitiveness in a challenging business environment through The Business Improvement Training.

Tec Wright, Operations Director said


"The Business Improvement Training (BIT) is the first step in implementing a company wide culture of change management and Continuous Improvement Techniques. As a company we are examining every activity to ensure best practice is used where ever possible. Visible improvements already seen include, Health and Safety, Stock Management, Shop floor space utilisation, KPI's, and improved departmental Team Working. The formal training process will last up to two years but the culture of Continuous Improvement will last far beyond this time period delivering machine, system and quality improvements on a continuous basis."
